Vote NO on Propositions 100 and 105! YES on Proposition 300
Proposition 100 would make it impossible for the State of Arizona to levy Real Estate Transfer Taxes - these Real Estate Transfer Taxes are used in many state for parks, conservation and open space. AZLCVEF feels strongly that taking possible revenue streams off the table amidst a huge budget deficit just does not make sense.
VOTE NO ON PROP 100
Proposition 105's "Majority Rules" initiative is more accurately described as "Minority Rules" - This proposition punishes voters by counting the votes of everyone who stayed home as a "NO" vote. This proposition is asking Arizona's citizens to vote themselves out of office as it would make it impossible to pass future initiatives without historically high turnout.
VOTE NO ON PROP 105
Proposition 300 - At the AZLCVEF we believe that you get what you pay for. If we continue to insist that our state representatives work for only $24,000 per year we will not get the most qualified candidates. We will also continue to see legislators who must hold down second jobs to make ends meet. Representing Arizona's citizens is a full-time job, we need to compensate our legislators fairly.

Candidate Forum a Success
Arizona League of Conservation Voters Education Fund Education Fund co-hosted a candidate forum for Congressional District 1 candidates on June 8th in Camp Verde. Attendance was fantastic with nearly 100 voters and seven of the candidates participating. We applaud the candidates who attended for their articulation, their frankness and their willingness to tell voters where they stand. We are saddened by those candidates who did not confirm attendance and deeply saddened that one of the front-running candidates, Sydney Hay, cancelled her attendance at the last moment.
Stay tuned as we will be posting the audio and video of the forum on this website.
Solar projects hang on future of tax credit
In Arizona, where the sun shines more than 300 days a year, utilities are under a state mandate to generate 15 percent of their electricity needs from renewable sources by 2025. They say solar is key to meeting their goals.
